Apple Valley Model Railroad Club (AVMRC) is located in the 100 year old historic Hendersonville Depot. This 40+ member club has constructed a fully scenicked HO model railroad representing Hendersonville and Western North Carolina. The club is opened to the public every Saturday from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Admission is free and donations are accepted.

This Club is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains where the old Clinchfield line crosses by way of the famous Clinchfield Loops and the Nolichucky Gorge. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month.

The French Broad E‘N’pire N-TRAK Club is a model railroad organization consisting of 12 members who model in “N” scale, the majority of whom live in Hendersonville, with members in Brevard, Asheville and Lake Lure. The club has been in existence for over 12 years and meets in a member’s basement 15 miles outside of town in the Edneyville area. The Club has a 16'x28' “U” shaped N-TRAK layout there and meets to work on or operate the layout every Wednesday night from about 7 to 10 p.m. There is a business meeting on the first Wednesday followed by an operating session. The Club puts on a model railroad show and swap meet called “Autumn Rails” each year in October and include a large N-TRAK layout as an operating display. We also participate in several N-TRAK shows each year.

The club gets it’s name from the Greenville and French Broad River Railroad, an actual railroad chartered in 1855 to operate between Greenville and Asheville. The real railroad was never constructed, but lives in history and as interpreted on our model railroad layout as the French Broad River Railroad.

The Waynesborough Model Railroad Club has been located in historic Goldsboro.  Waynesborough Model Railroad Club occupies the entire second floor of a vintage downtown building and has ample area for personal storage, workspace for members, and room for future layout growth. Our group meets each Tuesday night at 7:30 PM. Members gather then to run trains, share camaraderie, and work on their individual projects. Each 3rd Tuesday of each month is reserved as a business meeting. The club provides on-site presentation during the year, using its separate modular (traveling) railroad layout within the community. We are often found running our traveling layout at community festivals, church functions, and other celebrations. Our members often travel together to attend local and regional train shows throughout the year.

Our clubhouse is located at 103 North James Street and has a 72'x18' HO scale walk-around layout.

Carolina Piedmont Division members are dedicated to furthering the hobby of model railroading through public displays, community involvement and educational activities. The Division models all scales and railroads, and welcomes new members, especially newcomers to the hobby. There is always plenty to do and learn, so come and join the fun.
Carolina Piedmont Division 13 meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Cary Senior Center in Cary, NC beginning at 7:00pm. Advance notice will be given of any meetings not held the 4th Tuesday due to a holiday, etc. See the "Next Division Meeting" notice on the Club's News and Information page.

The Carolina Model Railroaders occupied a space in the old Southern Railway depot in Greensboro since 1975 and built a fine model railway there, which reflects the flavor of the full-size railroading in the area as it was and is today. Currently the Club is located in space in the old REA building adjacent to the main terminal while the Depot is being renovated. There are about 30 members ranging in age from 15 to 85. New members are welcome.

The Club is constructing a large HO scale display showcasing the industrial and railroad heritage of Greensboro. Members model in N, HO, O and G scales. Several are narrow gauge enthusiasts and most are accomplished model railroaders with years of experience.

The Metrolina Model Railroaders were formed in 1980 with the intent of building a permanent HO scale layout, which they did several times as they moved from buildings in Charlotte to Belmont where they stayed in one location for 13 years. The club currently does not have a permanent home, but has built an HO scale modular layout that is displayed at the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte and at other shows.

The modular layout is the work of about 15 people over a period of years. While the scenery represents the 1950's, members are free to operate any equipment they wish. There are photographs of this layout on the Club's web site.

The club's layouts are HO scale but many members also model other scales.
