Land O Sky Club
Division 15, SER, NMRA
About the Division
The Land O' Sky is a divison of the Southeastern Region (SER) of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA). Our membership includes all members of the NMRA residing in the following counties in western NC: Avery, Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey.

Our goals are to promote model railroading predominately within our division. We sponsor and support model train shows, conventions, clinics, contests, field trips and any other train related activities within a reasonable distance from Asheville. The division also has a modular layout that we display for the public at least six times a year as well as operating sessions twice a month.

The division is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors and elected officers according to the division's bylaws.

Membership is open to men and women regardless of age. Visitors and prospective members are always welcome at the division's activities.

For information on NMRA membership see the NMRA website or the Southeastern Region website.

Regular meeting are scheduled for the first Thursday
of each month, at 7:00 PM

We meet every month except July, in the Administration Building of Eliada Home
Programs at the meetings are designed to provide information about railroading and model railroading and to help improve skills in various areas of model railroading. We offer opportunities for members to participate in model railroading activities and events at local, regional, and national levels.
Clinics cover a wide range of topics including layout construction, scenery techniques, wiring, weathering, and prototypical operation. Other events include the annual white elephant sale that offers bargains for the members, contests to test members' model building skills, and the annual picnic in July.
WNC Train Show
The division sponors the Western North Carolina Train Show which has become a tradition in the mountain area. This event, which attracts hundreds of spectators, features operating layouts and numerous vendors selling unusual hobby related items.

We would like to thank all the visitors who joined us at the Asheville Civic Center in Feburary.
